Zina Marie White-Vest

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, Zina Marie White-Vest, loving sister, aunt, and friend passed away at the age of 66, after a brief illness.

Zina was born on November 4, in Dadeville, Alabama and graduated from Ramsey High School in 1977. She then went on to work at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama where she retired after 35 years.

Zina was the most sweet and thoughtful person, the kind of person who worried about everyone else instead of herself. Zina loved her family and friends fiercely. She was always there for us in every way. She taught us the importance of making every moment count. She was the kind of person who could turn a regular day into an adventure and bring joy into every room she entered. She was someone who truly lived life to the fullest. Whether it was traveling, trying new things, or just enjoying the little moments with loved ones, she showed us what it meant to fully embrace life. Zina was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and an Atlanta Braves fan. Other than spending time with loved ones, Zina loved to take trips to all the surrounding casinos.

Zina is survived by her sister, Gail Tyler, and her brother, Tommy White. Her extended family includes her nephew Jonathan (Misti) Tyler, niece Marie (Wataru), her great niece, Kayla (Preston) Craiger, great nephews, Connor Tyler and Kanata, great -great niece Laura Craiger and great-great nephew Kanata.

Zina is preceded in death by her spouse, Bernie Vest, her father, Thomas White, her mother, Mihoko White, and brother, Danny White.

A celebration of life will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, December 17, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens located in Hoover, Alabama. The family will welcome friends beginning at 5pm.
