Winifred Mitchell

Winifred Paula Schanen Mitchell, of Hoover, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the age of 87. She was very active in her children's PTA groups, Episcopal Church Woman's Service Groups (with Cathedral Church of the Advent), Friends of the Hoover Library, Star Lake Garden Club, and Girl Scouts of America.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Mitchell Barth (David); her son, Paul Clingman Mitchell (Julie); and her daughter, Laura Mitchell Voorhies; 7 grandchildren, Warren Amos, Jared Amos (Jasmine), John Mitchell (Kali), Paul Mitchell, Jr., William Mitchell, Thomas P. Voorhies, Jr., and Jennifer Voorhies Flanagan (Michael).
The family will have a Celebration of Life for both Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell at a later date in Annapolis, Maryland.
