Winford Hanson

Winford S. Hanson passed away on March 10th, 2024. He was the devoted husband of Janice Hanson (deceased) and loving father of Stephen Hanson and Suzanne (Hanson) Walker.

Our father was a strong man who faced every challenge in life with courage and dignity. Winford was determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved because they meant the world to him. He was a man of faith and instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. He was such a positive role model for us.

Winford was an avid lover of nature. He spent countless hours in his backyard tending to plants, caring for and watching birds, and simply admiring the beauty of God's creation. He was a huge fan of Alabama football and wore his houndstooth fedora with pride. Winford was a loving and devoted PawPaw to Matthew Walker, Ryan Walker, Mollie Hanson and Becca Hanson. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football, baseball and softball.

Winford was a source of comfort to us all and he will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched. The funeral service will be held at Currie-Jefferson Memorial on March 20th.
