William "Bill" Estes

William “Bill” Malvin Estes, born March 6, 1929, to John Thomas and Naomi Ophelia Estes, of Chambers County, Alabama, passed away on December 20, 2022. Bill was an alumnus of the University of Alabama and The School of Banking of the South at LSU. After 36 years of service, Bill retired as the Vice President at Regions Bank. Bill also served as Treasurer and Volunteer for 17 years at Rocky Ridge Fire Department. Bill was also a member of Mt. Chapel United Methodist Church, he was past president of Bessemer Rotary Club and Bessemer Salvation Army.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn M. Estes; son, Scott C. Estes; brothers, Rev. Raymond L. Estes and John T. Estes.

Left to cherish Bill’s memory include his son, Keith Estes (Margaret) of Cumming, GA and sister, Dr. Mary F. Estes of Center, AL; along with a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home from 11:00AM-12:00PM, with funeral services to follow.
