William Winn

William "Bill" Winn, age 88, of Bessemer, went to be with his Lord and Mary Jo, his wife of 53 years. Bill served his country in WWII in the US Navy, most notably in the Battle of Okinawa. Additionally he served in the US Air Force and retired from the US Postal Service (1984).
He is survived by his son, Russell Winn (Susan); daughter, Barbara Murphree (Jim); son, John Winn; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ellen (Allen), and Kyle; and great grandchildren, Brantley and Alena.
Graveside service will be 12 PM, Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Rev. Eddie Bolen officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Beacon Hospice.
