William Turner

of Vestavia Hills, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2006, at the age of 83. Bill was a Naval Veteran of WWII and loved the time he spent in submarine service. He was a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Elizabeth Moore Turner; a son, David William Turner (Susan), of Atlanta, GA; 2 daughters, Sandra Rowland (Scott), of Boston, MA, and Carol Basil, of Asheville, NC; 2 grandchildren, Jason Turner, of Philadelphia, PA, and Emily Basile, of Ashville, NC. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. Gary Furr and Dr. Otis Brooks officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vestavia Hills Baptist Church Building Fund. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
