William O'Neal, Jr

Mr. William "Bill" O'Neal, Jr, age 77, of Hoover, AL, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011. He was a published author of six books, and a little league coach in Montevallo of both football and baseball. He attended UA in Tuscaloosa from 1952-1954 and was a member of ROTC. He is preceded in death by a step-daughter, Claudine Dye Dunn. He is survived by his life partner, Joan Dye, three children; Bill (Kaye)O'Neal, Debbie O'Neal, and Pam O'Neal, a sister, Peggy (Tom) Miles, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three nieces. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 20, 2011, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2 PM with Reverend John Hardin officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association.
