William Moody, Sr

age 76 of Hueytown, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006, at his home. Mr. Moody was retired from U.S. Steel. He was an active lifetime member of Elks Post 1821 and American Legion Post 137. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lester Moody and Mary Jane Moody and a sister, Mary McClure. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Clara Charlene Moody; a daughter, Pamela Ellis "Sissy"; sons, William R. Moody "Bill" (Pam), and Michael B. Moody (Debbie); granddaughters, Stephanie Wheat (Mike), Ashley Moody and Kristin Moody; one grandson, Michael B. Moody, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Rae Wheat; sisters, Betty Wright (Bobby) of Tuscumbia and Barbara Jones (Clarence) of Huntsville; brother, William Lester "Butch" Moody (Sandra) of Birmingham; brother-in-laws, Ernest McClure of Florence, David Beumer (Freda) and Charles "Chuck" Beumer (Lois); and many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be David Beumer, Charles Ellis, Scott Dauphin, Paul Calhoun, Alan Wright, Ottis Harmon, Jim Mosier, Tommy Echols and Pete Gagliano. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers of Fairfield Elks 1821 and American Legion Post 137. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 1, 2006, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Harlan Turman and Aaron Ray officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
