William Lawrence, Jr

of Hoover, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the age 68. Billy was a 1964 graduate of Howard College and worked as a food broker for 45 years as the owner and manager of Bill Lawrence and Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Lawrence, Sr. and Lucille Lawrence. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Lawrence; two sons, William D. Lawrence III (Gigi) and W. Drew Lawrence (Amy); daughter, Wendy Lowery (Thad); eight grandchildren: Bailey Lawrence and Dennis Carlisle; Caroline, Will, and Emme Lawrence; and Shelby, Steele, and Sloan Lowery; and mother-in-law, Frances Barton. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville, Dr. George Allison officiating.
