William English

of Birmingham, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2005, at the age of 82. He was a native of Decatur, GA and a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. English was a veteran of WWII and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Cahaba Heights. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy English, and a brother, Pinky Dean English. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Horn English; two sons, Larry English of Atlanta, GA and Mark English (Lori) of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Jan Whorton (Robert) of Woodstock, GA; a grandson, Robert Whorton, Jr., currently serving in the USAF; and a step-granddaughter, Cassidy Nolde. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 31, 2005, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, with Rev. Barry Bruce officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Philadelphia Baptist Church.
