Wanda Hood

of Hoover, passed away February 20, 2006 at the age of 89. Loved by all who knew her, her table was always welcoming - food for the body and love for the soul. At her death, her friends are more than numerous, her love for others limitless. A wonderful mother, grandmother, friend and person. Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John Travis Hood. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Barron of Hoover; grandsons, Mark Barron (Joy) of Hoover and David Barron (Rachael); and great grandchildren, Wilson, Wyatt and Walker Barron all of Atlanta. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23, 2006 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoover First Baptist Church on Patton Chapel Road, with Dr. Randy Atkinson and Dr. Earl Tew officiating.
