WALTER HUBERT HINCHMAN | Visit Guest Book HINCHMAN, WALTER HUBERT left this world for another, unexpectedly on July 16, 2010. He was born December 7, 1943 in Chicago, the son of Raymond and Blanche Hinchman where he lived for many years before moving to the Birmingham area where he resided and enjoyed the past 26 years. He worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron in Oakbrook, IL from 1967 to 1984 as a professional photographer. His work took him to many locations around the world. He then owned and operated Viscom Photographics, Wedding and Portrait Gallery and Alabama Airfoto in Birmingham with his wife Debbie. His photographs earned him many Awards and professional recognition. Walt enjoyed traveling, gardening, was an avid cyclist, and loved cooking with his wife. Walt was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandpa who treasured spending time with his family and friends. His influence and example will be missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Blanche, and his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Ann Bereiter. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie (Shorty), children Wendy (Terry) Skoumal, Jeff Hinchman, Stacey Hinchman, Brian (Melissa) Hinchman, and Danielle (Clint) Wooten; Brothers Ray (Carline) Hinchman, Rob Hinchman, and sister Mary Jane (David) Husko; nine adoring grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, a special doggie friend Barney, neighbors and his special group of "Mellow" friends. Memorial service will be held Monday, July 19, 2010 at 5:00pm at the Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
