Walter Brown, Jr

Mr. Walter Howard Brown, Jr., of Birmingham went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 87, on Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was a member and attended the First Baptist Church of Birmingham. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather to his family. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy Brown, of 66 years; parents, Howard and Lillie Mae Brown. He is survived by his two daughters Kathy (George) Yarbrough, Jenny (Donnie) West; three grandchildren Lindsey (Rex) Hendrix, Jordan Yarbrough, Kendall West; two great grandchildren Ava and Bella Hendrix. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, from 1:00-2:00 pm at the Currie Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with services to begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Valhalla Cemetery. Dr. Charles Carter will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Kings Home, Chelsea, AL.
