Walter Brooks

Mr. Walter R. Brooks, age 83, of Birmingham, AL, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012. He was a Charter member of Lakeside Baptist Church. He was retired from ACIPCO after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served as US Marine Sgt. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Brooks, four children; Jeff Brooks (Cathy), Jimmy Brooks (Renee), Roy Brooks, and Rhonda Pyatt (Brian), a brother-in-law; Mickey Gilliland (LauraLee), and six grandchildren; Michael, Daniel, Andrew, Garrett, Ashton and Amy. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 8, 2012, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 11 AM with Dr. Earl Tew, Dr. Mike McLemore, and Dr. Breck Ladd officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Lakeside Baptist Church.
