Virginia Stanford

Mrs. Virginia Wright Stanford, 89, of Hoover, AL passed away on June 22, 2020. Virginia was born and raised in Sulligent, AL and moved to Birmingham after high school, where she got married and raised her family. She was a very devoted and loving mother with a servant's heart. She loved cooking for her family and always made good friends with her neighbors with whom she enjoyed playing dominoes and lunch outings.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clearmon R. Stanford; parents, William Dixon Wright and Ruby Walden Wright; brothers, Bill, Carl, Roy, and David Wright; and sister, Nelle Wright Dill.

She is survived by her son, Douglas R. Stanford (Carolyn Ann); daughter, Carolyn Stanford Oliver (Steve); grandchildren, Alison Hyde (Steven), Holly Stanford, Drew Stanford (Allison), Caitlin Thebaud, Bethany Napoleon (Dillon), Clay Oliver (Liz); 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, Janice Wright Heister.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
