Virginia A Burton, 87, passed away Dec. 26,2022, at the Hightlands Full Care Center in Bessemer Al.
Virginia was born on June 14, 1935, in Eton Ga to Temple and Ruth Johnson. During her young life the family moved around several times and eventually spent several years in West Virginia where she graduated High School. The family finall settled in Detroit Mich., where she attented Busincess School and went to work. She returned to West Virginia to visit friends where she met Robert (Burt) Burton, whom she dated and married on Aug 12, 1959.
Virginia and Burt moved to Baltimore Maryland where he worked at Bethleham Steel.
They became very interested in collecting and dealing antiques, which they loved and spent all their free time traveling up the New England coast buying and selling.
After Burt retired they settled in Ormond Beach Fl where their interest turned to buying and restoring old trunks and selling them.
Sadly Burt passed away in 2011. Virginia continued to live there with her many friends and neighbors until 2017 when she moved to Bessemer to be by her Sister, Linda and lived there until her death. She enjoyed family gatherings and meeting and learning about her family especially emjoying meeting all her great nieces and nephews. She took a great interest in learning all about their lives and interest.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Temple and Ruth Johnson and her brother, Johnny Johnson, her Sisters, Evelyn King and Benda Black.
She is survived by her Sisters Elaine Van Amburg of Texas and Linda Thompson of Bessemer Al. Also surviving are her Step Son James Burton (Anne)of Tampa Fl and their 3 children and great grandchildren. Special Nephew David (Marsha) Johnson and many other Nieces and Nephews.
Graveside Services will be held on ________________, at Daytona Memorial Park North. Funeral Services will be handled by Loham Funeral Homes of Daytona Beach, Fl.
