Vira Kennedy

Mrs. Vira Sykes Kennedy, 89, of Hoover, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She was a charter member of Shades Mountain Independant Church and more recently attended McCalla Bible Church. She was preceded in death by the man who adored her and called her Puddin' and Miss Mama for 65 years, Glenn Kennedy. Also preceded in death by two grandchildren Kevin and Geoffrey. She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Schmitt (Phillip) and Susan Roberts (Jim) and two sons, Larry Kennedy (Carol) and Gary Kennedy (Janey). Meemaw also had nine grandchildren, David, Joey, Jared, Alan, Jesse, Logan, Joey, Becca and Charis, and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 10 am until 12 noon at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with services to begin at noon in the chapel. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Baptist Mid-Missions, (EBI, in memory of Vira Kennedy) P.O.
