Mrs. Vena Fay “Big Boy” Bradley, 89, of Hoover, AL passed away on November 15, 2020. Fay, having four sisters with one being a twin, grew up in Lipscomb, AL and graduated from Jones Valley High School. She married Benjamin Clyde Bradley, Sr. on February 14, 1958 and enjoyed raising her kids in Pleasant Grove. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove and later Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover. She loved to socialize with friends in church, family, and neighbors, and enjoyed yardwork, painting, shopping, and decorating for Christmas. She loved dogs and instilled this passion in her family. She was a great Christian example for her children, grandchildren, and loved and adored her husband.
Vena is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Clyde Bradley, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Nicole Hill Bradley; her unborn grandson; sisters, Clestra “Boe” Muir, Thelma “Sis” Horton, Leona “Noni” Maxwell; and her twin sister, Lena “Bit” Nelson; and parents Elza Bell Jones and Leona Gertrude Williams Jones.
She is survived by her son, Benjamin Clyde Bradley, Jr. (Tracy); daughter, Stephanie Ozgun (Erin); and grandchildren, Savannah Marshall, Bradley Ozgun, Caroline Ozgun, Harrison Ozgun, and Benjamin Bradley III.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The funeral service will begin from the funeral home chapel at 2:00pm with Dr. Buddy Gray officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
