of Vestavia, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the age of 87. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Mr. Duke was a member of the Past President's Club and was retired from Kent Corporation. He was an avid Auburn fan. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita McCusty Duke. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bettie Fuqua Duke; a son, Jack Duke (Cydne) of Atlanta; four daughters, Joanne Duke of Hoover, Pattie Hall (Jimmy) of Hoover, Lisa DiPaola (Pat) of Colorado Springs, CO and Leslie Cantrell of Vestavia; ten grandchildren, Chris and Elizabeth Duke, Trey, Laura Leigh and Michael Hall, Chess, Brynn and Collin DiPaola, Elizabeth and Wyatt Cantrell; two nieces, Charlotte Johnson and Jerri Moore; and a nephew, Jimmy Simpson. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 15, 2007, from 5-7 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2007, at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Ralph Esco officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
