Troy Bryant

Mr. Troy T. Bryant, 94, of Bessemer, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Bessemer for over 50 years. Mr. Bryant retired from US Steel after 42 years of service. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army 7th Division 32nd Infantry Company F, and received the Purple Heart and other commendations for participating in the attack on Okinawa. He is preceded in death by his wife Cola Mae Bryant. He is survived by his son, Roger D. Bryant (Jean); daughter, Deborah Herring (Steve); grandchildren, Troy Piper, Nathan Bryant and Christopher Bryant (Nichole); great grandchildren, Linus Piper, Emily Norris, Cole Bryant, Maggie Bryant and Summer Bryant; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 1 PM until 2 PM at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with services to begin at 2 PM in the Chapel. Interment will be in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
