Tommie Tubb

of McCalla, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009, at the age of 78. She was a member Tannehill Valley Baptist Church and was retired from Plantation Manor Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Mary Elizabeth Fortenberry; a brother, Luther Fortenberry; and three sisters, Elizabeth Turnage, Inez Romanger and Irene Jackson. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, William D. Tubb; a son, Ralph E. Beane (Karen); five daughters, Valerie Hinson (Jim), Brenda Taylor (Jim), Patricia Steen (Russell), Deborah Carden, and Susan Lacey (Phillip); seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; a sister, Nettie Hughes; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 31, 2009, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Jon Reeves officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Tannehill Valley Baptist Church building fund.
