Thomas Jones

of Hoover, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at the age of 62. He was a native of Birmingham who was currently employed with the Transportation Security Administration. He was a graduate of the University of Montevallo and received his MBA from Samford University. Mr. Jones was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Sara B. Jones; a son, Jeffrey E. Jones (Anna) of Helena; a daughter, Mecia Jones Holley (Matt) of Hoover; 3 grandchildren, Cas, Ashton & Jake Holley; one sister, Elaine Marlowe of Concord, NC; mother-in-law, Sarah "Gram" Barclift; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children's Hospital of Alabama or to the American Red Cross.
