Thomas Langford

Thomas Keith Langford (Tommy) of Hoover, Alabama, passed away on Sunday January 16, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Briarwood Presbyterian Church’s Chapel, located at 2200 Briarwood Way, Birmingham, AL. Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Hulbert Young Langford, and his mother, Margarete Kilgo Langford. Tommy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Catherine (Cathy) Pike Langford, daughter Samantha Langford Youngblood (Ben), son Matthew Thomas Langford, and his 2 grandsons.

Tommy was born and raised in Bessemer, AL, attending Bessemer Academy and then the University of Montevallo. After college, Tommy became a licensed and certified real estate appraiser, owning his own company for 34 years.

Tommy loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and loved and cherished his family deeply, and adored his dogs. He was a loving and caring husband and a great Daddy to his children. He had avery special love for his grandsons, who called him Doodle. He showed his love in unique ways, and it always brought a smile to the faces of his family. Tommy was always there to help not only those he loved, but was always available to help his neighbors, no matter the circumstances or the time of the day or night.

Tommy will be remembered by all who knew him for his quick wit, dry sense of humor, his strong gift of discernment, and for never taking himself too seriously. He loved war movies, visiting aviation and other military museums, driving through Civil War battlegrounds, and spending time in nature.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Shelby Humane Society in Columbiana, AL.
