Thomas Hazuda

, age 67, passed away Feb. 26, 2009. Although a native of Florence, AL, he had made Birmingham his home since 1965. He is survived by his faithful wife of 44 yrs, Rebecca (Threet) Hazuda; two daughters, Ann Nelson (Jason) & Mary Lunceford (Denton); & four grandsons, Gabe (7), Andrew (5),Liam (3), Sage (1) .In his earlier years, Tom was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity at Auburn, and was a graduate of Rutgers University School of Banking. After retiring from 37 years of service at Regions Bank, he continued his hobbies of playing golf and pool. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and telling stories to family and friends. The family also wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. James C. Barton for over a year of quality guidance and time. A Memorial Service will be held this Sunday, March 8th, 3PM at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension with a brief reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Comprehensive Cancer Center (www3.ccc.uab.edu) or The Episcopal Church of the Ascension Children's Ministries.
