Thomas Dennis,

of Pelham, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009 at the age of 81. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham for many years. Tom was a charter member of Chace Lake Country Club. He served in the US Army during WWII. Tom retired from Alagasco after 35 years of service. He will be greatly missed by both friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Marie Elliott and a grandson, Thomas Ryan Dennis. He is survived by a daughter, Midge Young (Pete); two sons, Jim Dennis (Sue) and Neil Dennis (Rose); six grandchildren, Tracy, Suzan, Kristy, Mark, Scott and Valerie; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from 5-7 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Dr. Mike Shaw officiating.
