79 of Hoover passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. He was born on August 13, 1930 in Atlanta GA. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Japan. He was a dedicated member and Elder at the Shades Valley Presbyterian Church. He was President of Alabama Numismatic Association and President of the Insurance Fieldman's Association. He was on the Board of Governors, Chamberlain Hunt Academy in Port Gibson, Mississippi. Most Loyal Grand Gander Alabama Pond, Honorable Order of the Blue Goose International. He was owner of Century Coin and Stamps for 25 years. He is survived by his adoring wife of 52 years Frances Avery, one daughter, Connie Ware; two sons Dr. Bob Avery (Kelly) and Tom Avery (Mimi); nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One sister Eloise Stockman and one brother Ben Avery. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Shades Valley Presbyterian Church with interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 4 pm until 6 pm at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150.
