Teresa Zackerman

Teresa Lightsey Zackerman, age 95, went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 28, 2020. She was born on October 22,1924 in Bibb County, AL to Van and Roberta W. Lightsey. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, her loving husband, Daniel “Danny” Zackerman, and children, Larry Zackerman and Joann Connolly. At the time of her passing she resided in Odenville, AL after being a longtime resident of Hoover, AL.She was a retired secretary for the government, where she worked alongside her husband who was in the CIA. They met on a blind date while he was stationed at Fort McClellen. It was love at first sight and they were a couple from that moment on. She was living in Birmingham, AL at the time. The married on October 9, 1945 in Yonkers, NY. After they married they traveled the world with their three children while working for the government before settling back in Hoover, AL after he retired. They lived in Greece, Germany, Virginia, and Iran on their beautiful adventure together. She later went on to retire from Ebsco in Alabama. She is survived by her son Dennis Zackerman, four granddaughters Rebecca Kerr, Shannon Ferguson, Skylar Connolly and Tiffany Connolly and 5 great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put God and her family first. She will be greatly missed here on Earth and welcomed with open arms in Heaven. The minister will be  Bradley Patton.
