Susan Thomas

THOMAS, SUSAN GRACE, of Homewood, passed away after a long battle with dementia on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, James B. “Bo” Thomas, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Valerie Lynn Thomas Baxter and Laura Thomas Hollingsworth (Michael); three granddaughters, Elizabeth Lynn Baxter, Jennifer Susan Baxter, and Ashley Laura Baxter; brother, Joseph Samuel Reed (Betty); two nieces, Cheryl Petix (Tony) and Pamela Allums; an aunt, Berthel “Leora” Hulan; and several cousins. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Highway 150, Hoover. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 11:00 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Dr. Buddy Gray officiating. In addition to flowers, the family requests donations be made to Birmingham Humane Society or Alabama Wildlife Rescue Center, because of her love for God’s little creatures.
