Susan Mccarty

Susan Steen McCarty, age 55, of Birmingham, went to be with Jesus Christ on March 3rd, 2018 after an 18 year battle with cancer. Susan is survived by her two sons, Bill McCarty and Mark McCarty (Laura); her parents, David and Millie Steen; her brother, David Steen (Jeannine); and granddaughter, Miller Clyne McCarty. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sullivan Yates McCarty. She also is survived by her many nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

Susan was a kind, loving, and gentle-spirited person who loved life and all the people she came in contact with. She along with her Uncle Jim Erwin served the Bluff Park community for over 35 years caring for people and their pets at Bluff Park Animal Clinic.

A celebration of Susan's life will be held at 11 AM on March 6th, 2018, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home and Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, on Hwy 150 in Hoover, AL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11 AM. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be a private graveside service for family immediately following. Instrumental in Susan’s care were the Alacare hospice team along with her day to day caregivers, Sitting Angels.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Alacare Hospice Benevolent fund. Contributions may be made online by visiting www.hhhfa.org.
