Steve Guevara

GUEVARA, STEVE, age 23, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away Tuesday morning, January 5, 2010. Steve graduated from Spain Park High School in 2004. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Stationed in Camp Lejeune, he was part of the battalion 3/6 Kilo Company Weapons Platoon, 0351 Assaultman. Surviving two tours in Iraq, Steve earned decorations including the Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense, Global War on Terrorism, and Iraqi Campaign Medals, along with Rifle Qualification Badge Expert. Steve was a true hero. He was always full of life, funny and outgoing. To his friends, Steve was known for being short, stocky and full of heart. Despite the many obstacles he faced, Steve was proud of his roots and who he was. He will truly be missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 from 2 until 5pm and Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 9 until 2pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
