Stacy Derrick Dueitt, of Hoover, passed away from complications from pneumonia Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the age of 60. She was born and raised in Laurel, MS, graduated from R.H. Watkins High School and The University of Southern Mississippi, Stacy worked for Masonite in Laurel and for The Berry Company/AT&T in Birmingham, from which she retired. Afterward, she worked for American Greetings. Stacy really enjoyed reading, shopping, eating good food, and cheering for the Auburn Tigers. To celebrate her recent 60th birthday, she went parasailing and got a breast cancer survivor tattoo on her wrist. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bettye and Grady P. Derrick.
Stacy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Raimund Dueitt; sons, Cory Dueitt (Beryl) and Mason Dueitt; grandchildren, John William Chandler, and the family is awaiting the birth of Ruth Laurel Dueitt; brother, Grady P. Derrick, Jr. (Leslie); nephew, Grady P. "Zeke" Derrick III; sister, Debbie Derrick Vehnekamp (Billy); nieces, Courtney Vehnekamp Winchester (Andy) and Ashley Vehnekamp; sister-in-law, Liz Harris (Joey); and niece, Jasmine Harris Richardson (Jake).
The family will receive friends from 1-2, Friday, September 21, 2018, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral will follow in the chapel at 2:00, Cody Cooley officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
