Sophia Griffin

Mrs. Sophia Juanita Roy Griffin, of Vestavia Hills, AL, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the age of 89. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and employed by Pemco/Hayes Aircraft for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Griffin, daughter, Patricia Greene, and five siblings.
She is survived by her daughters; Deborah Maple, Cynthia Greene (Larry), and Janet Denise Gilmore (Steven), a brother; Howard Roy, two sisters; Joann Dawkins and Bobbie Roy, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM with Dr. Earl Tew officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, with her grandsons acting as pallbearers.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Plantation Manor, Southeast Hospice, and Dr. Jerry McLane.
