of Homewood, passed away Friday, July 15, 2005. He came from China to the United States in 1938 as a student and received his bachelor's and master's degree in engineering from Purdue University in 1940. During WWII, he voluntarily enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps and was shortly afterward naturalized a U. S. citizen and commissioned a First Lieutenant in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve. Mr. Lee was on active duty overseas with the First Marine Division in the Pacific Theater of War. For 25 years with the Norden Division of United Technologies Corp in Connecticut, he was an engineering manager supervising the research and development of some of the electronic subsystems for many defense and aerospace programs, such as, the Atlas Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, Navy's carrier-based A6 Intruder aircraft, Air Force's F111 and NASA's Apollo. He has a number of inventions and held U. S. patents on missile altitude control and inertial navigations systems. He retired to San Diego in 1980. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Chien, a son, Calvin Lee (Anne) of Fairfield, CT; a daughter, Jeannette Lee Kenney (Philip) of Vestavia Hills; and grandsons, Brian and Keith Kenney.
