Shirley Stevens

STEVENS, Shirley Q., 83, of Helena, AL, died April 6, 2017. Mrs. Stevens, a native of Keene, NY, was the daughter of Pastor William F. and Maud Bowles Asher. After high school she became a Dental Assistant and later became an Interior Decorator and an LPN. She was married to G. Joe Questionati for 47 years and the Air Force took them to Washington DC where Joe was on the Presidential Guard, then to the Phillipines and finally to several bases in Florida. Her God given ministry was hospitality and she was very active in the lives of her children and siblings, as well as having a ministry of sending cards to those in need and helping with Discovery Bible Studies.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Retired Pastor E. Al Stevens of Helena, AL, two sons, Ed Questionati of Denver, CO and Joe (fiancée Kathy Rosman) Questionati of Helena, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Janet (Steve) Camp of Helena, AL; three brothers, Craig (Ruth) Asher of Lawrenceville, GA, LaVern (Jeanette) Asher of Savannah, TN and David (Tina) Asher of Jasper, GA; two sisters, Bonna Lucas of Buford, GA and LaVon Johnson of Suwanee, GA; four grandchildren, David (April) Brewer of Fairhope, AL, TJ Sands of Edmond, OK, Joey Questionati of Greeley, CO and Caitlin Questionati of Westminster, CO and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kira and Naomi Brewer, all of Fairhope, AL.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Birmingham First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3520 Lorna Rd, Hoover, AL 35216 on April 16, 2017 at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3abn.org) or Elijah Radio (wsjlradio.com) on her behalf.
