Sharon Turner

Sharon Willis Turner of Wilsonville AL passed away at the age of 69 on March 20, 2024 after a long fight with breast cancer.

Sharon was born September 29, 1954 to Martin and Frances Willis in Sylvan Springs Alabama. Sharon graduated from Oak Grove High School, she went on to work at Liberty National. Here, she met her husband, Ellis. Sharon and Ellis married in 1976 and went on to have two children, Christy Turner Harrison and Joshua Ellis Turner.

Sharon returned to Alabama in 2016 following the birth of her first grandchild. She spent her time on Lay Lake with family swimming, fishing, and riding in the boat. Sharon enjoyed spending time with family, traveling with friends, crafting, decorating, and loving on her grandchildren.

Sharon was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, and sister. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ellis Turner; children Joshua (Meghan) Turner, Christy (Devin) Harrison; grandchildren Henson and Holden Harrison; parents Martin and Frances Willis; siblings Cathy (Mike) Carroll and Guy Willis; niece Haleigh (Sammy) Medders; nephew Steven (Amanda) Carroll and countless others including close friends she considered as family.

The funeral services will be held on Monday March 25, 2024 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Currie Jefferson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer Alabama.
