Scotty is survived by his wife Doshia and daughter Ashley Bennett Anderton, son-in-law Brian Anderton and grandson Samuel Bennett Anderton. He is preceded in death by a son, Chad Scott Bennett and his parents. Scotty was a retired Louisiana Banker where he was active in the Louisiana Bankers Association, served as a loaned executive to the United Way of Northeast Louisiana. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer and also at Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana. He served as a Sunday School teacher and Director. He was a member of the Sertoma Club and Kiwanis Club. He loved sports and coached a boys Little League team as well as a girl’s softball team. Scotty was always active in Ashley’s activities. Scotty loved the Lord, his family and church. He was a caring and loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. He and Sam had a very special relationship. He was a man of principle and always put God, family and work in that order. He was strong in his faith even through his battle with cancer. Two of Scotty’s favorite verses were Matthew 6:33 which says, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.” Psalm 18:2 which says, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God is my rock in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the Lord of my salvation, my stronghold. God has called a special person home.
