Sara Paulette (Munkus) McDaniel, age 77, departed this life on March 12, 2021 at UAB hospital. She was born March 22, 1943 in Birmingham, AL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Preston and Sara Myrtle (Mull) Munkus, her brother Cpt. George Ryan Munkus, and sister, Cathi Denise (Munkus) Massey.
She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Charles "Uncle Bob" McDaniel; daughters: Kimberly D. (Michael) Owens, Lori D. (David) Lyles, and Paula D. McDaniel; Grandchildren: Jon M. Ousley, Kara E. (Adam) Berryhill, and Alexa F. A. Lyles; great-grandson: Jaxson I. Berryhill.

Paulette was a devout Christian. She served as Ladies Auxiliary President, and taught Sunday School at Lipscomb Church of God for many years.

She was a graduate of Jefferson State Community College, and retired from SBCCI.

She formed the Pleasant Grove chapter of The Red Hat Society called "Magnolias in Motion," and was known by the moniker "Queen Mum."

She loved her grandchildren and great-grandson devotedly. She was an avid fan of University of Alabama football, Dale Earnhardt, and the music of Elvis Presley.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 1 - 2pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL.  The funeral service will begin at 2pm. Officiating will be Reverend Ken Andrews, and Reverend Michael Owens.  Also, Stephen McDaniel will deliver a eulogy. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local church.
