Sarah Young

Sarah Munger Young, 89, of Vestavia Hills, AL, our beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away on Palm Sunday, April, 9, 2017. She was born to the late C.F.E. and Patricia Weatherly Munger on November 20, 1927, in Newbern, AL and was a graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, AL. Sarah married Thomas James Young in 1947. Sarah was an active member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church, the Southern Railway Ladies Club, Les Pirouettes Dance Club and worked with various charities over the years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was an accomplished cook and seamstress. She loved traveling with her husband Tommy and took great joy caring for her dachshunds, Charlene and Molly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Young and her eldest son, Robert M. Young.

Sarah is survived by two children, Stephen Young (Debbie) of Hoover, AL and Belinda Young Humphrey (Don) Canton, GA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Allison Young Brown, Stephanie Young Brizendine, Bryant Young, William Young and four great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services for Sarah on Thursday, April 13 at Bluff Park United Methodist Church, 733 Valley Street, Hoover, AL. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 12 noon. Burial service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South on Highway 150, Hoover, AL upon conclusion of funeral service.
