Sara Oelschlager

OELSCHLAGER, SARA LOUISE, of Helena, passed away peacefully in her sleep at UAB Medical Center on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the age of 76. She was originally from Sylacauga, Alabama, and is a graduate of Childersburg High School. She attended nursing school at the Sylacauga Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Annie Holmes of Sylacauga; a son, Theodore C. Oelschlager of Vestavia Hills; a daughter, Deborah L. Oelschlager of Helena; and five brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Theodore H. Oelschlager; daughter, Kimberly A. Oelschlager of San Diego, CA; two grandsons, Brian and Kevin Oelschlager of Vestavia Hills; brother, Wayne Holmes (Kay) of Fort Pierce, FL; a sister Maribel Cassidy of Oxford; and daughter-in-law, Denise Oelschlager of Vestavia Hills. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 12, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Helena United Methodist Church (UMC). Funeral service will be Monday, April 13, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Helena UMC, Rev. Michael Edmondson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
