Sara Morton

of Rocky Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the age of 88. She was known to all as a loving and faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ. Sara was a charter member of Lakeside Baptist Church and had served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 58 years, M.A. Morton, Sr. She is survived by her son, M.A. Morton, Jr. (Diane) of Highland Lakes; two daughters, Sue Morton Ross (Wesley) of Bessemer and Beth Morton Kelley (Ben) of Center Point; three grandchildren, Suzanne Crisp (Mike), Stacy Blackman (Brian), and Daniel Shaffield (Mitzi); and three great grandchildren, Stephanie and Evan Crisp and Chloe Shaffield. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2008, from 1:00-2:30 PM at Lakeside Baptist Church on Old Rocky Ridge Road. A Celebration of Life service will follow in the church at 2:30 PM, with Dr. Earl Tew and Dr. Mike McLemore officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
