Sandra Mauldin Turner passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024 at her home in Hoover, Alabama surrounded by her family. She was born on September 24, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1957. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard, her parents, Lawrence and Madelyne Mauldin, and her sister Jane Ann Carroll. She is survived by daughters Laurie Goodloe (Bill), Karen Barrios (Camille), and Sandy Gann (Randy), her grandchildren Jordan Sterley (Matt), Matthew Goodloe (Dana), Hayden Gann, Jamie Swiderski (Scott), her great grandchildren Madden, Peyton, and Sutton Sterley, Hadley and Parker Goodloe; and Michael and Stephen Swiderski; her sister Susan Mullican (Mac). Richard and Sandra were charter members of Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama when it was formed in 1961. She was a passionate fan and supporter of all Auburn University sports and the Atlanta Braves. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her so much pride and joy.
There will be a service celebrating her life on December 18, 2024 at Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Visitation will be at 10:00 am with a service following at 11:30 am. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover, Alabama.
