Sammie Howell

Sammie Howell, of Hoover, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the age of 78. She attended the University of Alabama and played in the Million Dollar Band. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and spent many years working in their children’s ministry and kindergarten. She enjoyed entertaining, spending time at Logan Martin Lake and watching Alabama football. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Vadie Sundberg; along with brother, Morris Sundberg; and sister, Doris Epperson.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joel Howell; 3 children; and 4 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, February 25, 2019, at Lakeside Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Diffey and Dr. Greg Corbin officiating. Family will receive friends at a reception in the Fellowship Hall after the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lakeside Baptist Children’s Department or the Lakeside Baptist Senior Adult Fund.
