Ruth Carolyn Scott “Nana”, 94, of Hoover Alabama, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 12, 2020. Nana was born February 16, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Harry and Alma Winger. She toured the country as a singer and piano player with Ada Leonard’s All American Girl Orchestra before becoming a homemaker. She loved her family, her dogs, playing golf, playing the piano, doing crosswords, playing cards, baking German coffee cake, watching sports and listening to J.D. sing and play her favorite songs on the piano. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. She looks forward to being a fourth and winning big in her new heavenly bridge group.
She was preceded in death by her beloved peek-a-poo, Punkin and her grand-dogs Rascal and Shadow.
She is survived by her brother, Alan Winger (Kathy); Son Jonathan Scott (Camille) and their children Jeremy Scott, Zach Scott and Kelley Sauer; Son David Scott (Phyllis) and their children Amy Scott Wasyluka and J.D. Scott; and, Daughter Susan Wilcox (David) and their children Kristi Winters and David Wilcox. She is also survived by her six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday October 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Bluff Park United Methodist Church in Hoover, Alabama. Rev. Reid Crotty officiating.
Nana was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
