Ruth S. Peters, 84, of Hoover, loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away January 21st after a long battle with complications after surgery.
She was the owner of Mark Hall, Inc., a card and gift shop in Montgomery, AL, and later travelled with her husband of nearly 40 years until his retirement.
She is survived by her husband, N.J. "Nick" Peters, Jr.; daughter, Sharon Johnson; son, Steve Greenfield (Leslie); stepson, Nick Peters (Patty); grandchildren, Nathan Johnson, Nicholas Peters (Amanda), Christian Peters (Ashley), and Shannon Williams (Steve); 5 great grandchildren; nieces, Yona McNish (Tom), Susan Goldstein (Erwin), and Marsha Kessler; and her nephew, Morton Gross.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, Friday, January 24, 2014, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover. Graveside service will follow at 11 AM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Rabbi Ira Flax. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to local Humane Societies or Animal Rescue.
