Ruby Bacon

of Birmingham, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at the age of 88. She attended Hunter Street Baptist Church for 85 years, where she served in many church organizations. Mrs. Bacon was an office manager for the family's hardware and building supply business for many years. She was a supportive and loving wife, mother and grandmother who was loved by all. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William H. Bacon, a son, William M. Bacon (Martha) of Clinton, MS and a daughter, Beverly Livingston (Dan) of Gulf Breeze, FL; five grandchildren, Marsha Bowers, Brenda Doster, Millie Rice (Bert), Amanda Thomas (Matt) and Heather Bryant (Rusty); eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 15, 2008, from 9:30-11:00 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Buddy Gray and Rev. Chris Sullivan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hunter Street Baptist Church.
