Roy Skelton, Jr

Mr. Roy Clifford Skelton, Jr., 78, of Bessemer passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. He was a member and Deacon at Canaan Baptist Church for many years. He was retired from US Steel after 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Madie Skelton; one son, Steve Skelton (Debra); three grandchildren, Chris Guess, Jared Guess and Sarah Skelton; one brother, Tommy Skelton, several extended family members and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10 am at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Rev. Morgan Bailey and Rev. Roy Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Canaan Baptist Church building fund.
