Roy Krotzer

Roy H. Krotzer, of Vestavia, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at age 88. He was born on July 15, 1929, and was raised in his hometown of Parrish, AL. Roy graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute, which is now Auburn University, in 1956 with an Electrical Engineering Degree. Later Roy would retire from Alabama Power after a long and distinguished career. He was also a longtime member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. Roy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean Wilkinson.

Roy is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Ferguson Krotzer; one son, Roy Stephen Krotzer (Mary Jane); one daughter, Debra Joyce Krotzer; four grandchildren, Chris and Charles Hornbuckle, Caryn Smith (Caston), and Kate Wilkinson; son-in-law, Tommy Wilkinson; and two brothers, Wiley Krotzer and Morris Krotzer.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 6, 2017, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. A private family graveside service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, with Jim Profetto officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Roy's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
