Ronald Pitts

Mr. Ronald Pitts, age 63, of Hoover, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011. He was an active member of Shades Crest Baptist Church, where he taught childrens sunday school for many years. He began his career at channel 42 television in Birmingham before going to Alabama Power Company where he retired after more than 24 years of service. He was employed by O'Neal Transportation for the past ten years. He was a hang-glider pilot, a member of the Amateur Radio Club and a member of the Dixie Railroad Museum. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his father Paul E. Pitts. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Theresa H. Pitts; son, Matthew R. Pitts; mother, Betty Sue Pitts; sister, Carol Pitts; brother, Terry Pitts; and his most beloved grand daughter, Harmony Grace Pitts. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 10 am until 11 am at the Shades Crest Baptist Church in Bluff Park with a memorial service to begin at 11 am. Graveside services will follow at noon at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Dr. Dennis Foust officiating.
