Roland Wilson

Mr. Roland Bernard Wilson, of Hoover, AL, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the age of 85. Mr. Wilson graduated from Ensley High School and received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Auburn University. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama. Mr. Wilson was an Eagle Scout and volunteered in the scouting program for many years. He served as a 1st LT. US Army Artillery, 3rd Infantry Division, in Korea. He retired from BE&K, Inc. in Business Development. Mr. Wilson was a long time member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, a daughter, Rolanda Waddell (Jim), a son, Wade Wilson (Michele), five grandchildren, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Shelby, Derrick, and Amanda, and four sisters, Sudie Barton, Martha Swader, Linda Porrill and Thera Jones.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 10-11 AM at Bluff Park United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be in the Alabama National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Pastor's Discretionary Fund at Bluff Park United Methodist Church.
