Roger Underwood

Roger Underwood, of Vestavia, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, at the age of 86.  He was a member of Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church and was active in the Unity Sunday School class.
He is preceded in death by 7 siblings, a son, and a grandson. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat Underwood; 2 daughters, Jeanna Underwood Blicker and Natalie Oswalt (Chad); 2 sons, Phillip Underwood and Scott Underwood (Christy); daughter-in-law, Sandra Underwood; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Libby Underwood.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:30, Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover.  Service will follow at 10:30 in the chapel.  Interment will be in the Alabama National Cemetery.  The family wishes to express special appreciation to Tiffony Coleman for her compassionate care and devotion to Mr. Underwood.  Additionally, special thanks to Infinity Hospice, especially Rosa and Shay,  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Rise School at the University of Alabama: https://riseschool.ua.edu or to Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church Mission Fund.
